The DRDC announces fellowship and research opportunities with the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD) of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for 2013. NOTE: All applications were due in March and funding announcements will be made as soon as the information becomes available.
Research Opportunities
Areas research funding include: child mental health, early identification of developmental delay, outcomes for children with hearing loss, and improving screening for hearing loss in Women, Infants and Children (WIC) programs.

Fellowship Applicant Selected
The DRDC is pleased to announce the selection of Brian Barger, PhD, as the 2013-2015 Learn the Signs Act Early Fellow. On June 1, Dr. Barger began working with the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in Atlanta, Georgia. He joined a small, interdisciplinary team of medical and health communication experts that focus on building awareness and improving early identification of developmental disabilities among young children.
