Research Advisory Council

The DRDC’s Research Advisory Council (RAC) includes academic experts in the fields of disability research, maternal and child health, birth defects research, and blood disorders.   We are pleased to have eight returning and eight new members for the 2nd 5-year grant period, which began in 2017.  In addition to advising the DRDC team, based on their content expertise, each year a subset of the RAC serves on the annual Triage Panels in their review of applications that are submitted to for new funding opportunities. These esteemed individuals are comprised of professionals from universities, academic medical centers, research enterprises, and organizations representing and serving people with disabilities, as well as advocates and consumers, all of whom represent work that is aligned with NCBDDD priorities.  They represent the fields of rehabilitation medicine, genetics and epigenetics, pediatrics, preventive medicine, epidemiology, statistics, public health, health services research, disability research, research translation and content experts in ID/DD, ASD, other child or adult onset disabilities.
